It may be a completely ridiculous premise and Lizzie may be cheesy and disappointingly straight-laced but all in all she's a bit of fun. The film is full of clever little touches but it all feels rather cold and mechanical, and one is left at a loss to understand why the central character is so desperately smitten by a neurotic hermit with a terminal case of Chekhovian misery.
