The Archbishop at Cardiff and the bishops in Menevia and Wrexham issued a joint statement outlining their stance. Yesterday, Plaid Cymru's National Council decided to support the Yes campaign for an Assembly. However, the rebel Labour MP Llew Smith has called the decision "a major step down the road of separatism". Prince Charles toured the centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, which he last visited in 1978. As he left the centre, anti-windfarm campaigners staged a peaceful protest. The Prince then left for Gregynog Hall, near Newtown, where he had a private lunch with the Vice Chancellors of the University of Wales. P197 CEEFAX 1 197 Mon 28 Jul 01:43/44         4/6 BEACH RIDE ANIMALS RESCUED FROM FIRE Horses and donkeys used for beach rides were rescued from their stables by firefighters early this morning. The animals, which give rides on the beach at Borth, near Aberystwyth, were trapped after the stables caught fire. One horse died in the blaze which destroyed the Old Power Station building which was used as stabling. Rick Ransome is cycling to raise money for the Brill fund - Bringing Relief into Local Lives. The fund exists to help support disadvantaged individuals and one of the causes supported is Tu Gwyn special needs school in Cardiff. Three thousand Scouts from several countries have assembled at the Denbigh and Flint showground. William Legge Bourke, the president of the Welsh Scout Council and Roy Whittingham, Wales's Chief Commissioner, have addressed them. The camp is completely self contained with shops and a hospital.
