Courier, who dropped only seven points on his own serve, defeated an unusually error-prone Ivanisevic 6-3 6-4 in an hour and 12 minutes. He now faces second seed Swede Thomas Inquest, who has lost four of their five career meetings. The Swede powered past unseeded Frenchman Guillaume Raoux 6-4 6-1. Tenth seed Dewulf took one and a half hours to win the match 7-6 6-4 6-1. The 25-year-old Belgian said afterwards that neither he or his opponent played their best tennis in the final. "I think it was the worst match we played in the tournament because there were a lot of mistakes. "Wi were both tired," added Dewulf. The number three seed beat the number two seed 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 6-3. The victory avenged last year's loss to Moya in the final of this event and means Mantilla will take part in his fourth clay court final of the season. Top seed Serge Bruguera won the other semi-final, another all-Spanish affair. He defeated unseeded opponent Alberto Martin 6-3 6-1.
