This is the first time Ardiles starts a game since February. He came on as substitute in last week's game with Manchester United. Archibald, Spurs' leading scorer, has recovered from his hip injury and teams up with Alan Brazil in the attack. Mark Falco, who has appeared in every game this season, is substitute. David O'Leary and Stewart Robson could be back for the Gunners.

Nottingham Forest recall Colin Todd for the Boxing Day match with Birmingham at St Andrews. Hi will deputise for Paul Hart, who fractured a cheekbone in the 3-0 win over West Ham. West Ham, with only one win in their last six matches, have selection problems for their home game against Southampton.
