In an interview with Radio Times the actor accuses TV bosses of ditching drama for soap operas and older actors for youth. Gambon, 59, also attacked the BBC for being "frightened" of taking risks as they did with series like Dennis Potter's The Singing Detective, in which the actor starred in the 1980s.
