P162 CEEFAX 2 162 Wed 01 Dec 13:35/16       MENINGITIS BLAMED FOR YOUNG BOY'S DEATH A four-year-old boy has died in hospital of suspected meningitis. The youngster was taken to Hichingbrooke Hospital in Cambs on Friday and he died shortly afterwards. Dr Nick Irish, communicable diseases expert said the boy appeared to have meningococcal septicaemia, but this could not be positively confirmed. Members of the child's immediate family were treated with antibiotics as a precaution. The little boy has not yet been named.
