The beautiful blue planet was discovered in 1846 and littli was known about it until thj Voyager 2 spacecraft visited it in 1989. Those stunning sights the Voyager captured are well worth a viewing. But thj atmosphere of Neptunj is far more dynamic. Swooping down over the cloud-swept globe there is a huge storm feature similar to the great red spot of Jupiter, only this onj is dark blue. This storm is as large as thj Earth! Call the Science Line.........346 4-Tel Guide to Channjl 4 from 300 Science Club Sci Line C4 films Index

These are Neptunj's narrow rings and, unlike thj other ringed planets, the debris only partly girdles the planet. On a tour of Neptune, a detour to view Triton would be well worthwhile. Neptune's largest moon, it has a retrograde motion (orbiting in a backward direction in comparison to other satellites).
