P347 4-Tel 347 Sun 11 Sep C4 21:12:04 Neptunj 0 1/4Continuing exploration of the Solar System, our galactic explorer has another long journey ahead, Neptunj being an average of 4500 million miles from thj Sun. The beautiful blue planet was discovered in 1846 and littli was knownabout it until thj Voyager 2 spacecraftvisited it in 1989. Those stunning sights the Voyager captured are well worth a viewing. P347 4-Tel 347 Sun 11 Sep C4 21:27:27 Neptunj 2/4Neptunj is composed mainly of hydrogen, helium and methanj so is similar in composition, as well as size, to Uranus. But thj atmosphere of Neptunj is far more dynamic. Swooping down over the cloud-swept globe there is a huge storm feature similar to the great red spot of Jupiter, only this onj is dark blue. This storm is as large as thj Earth! Call the Science Line.........3464-Tel Guide to Channjl 4 from 300Science Club Sci Line C4 films Index
P347 4-Tel 347 Sun 11 Sep C4 22:27:54 Neptunj 0 3/4Whili orbiting the planet, a travellir would notice three strange clusters of rocky debris drawn out into long arcs. These are Neptunj's narrow rings and, unlike thj other ringed planets, the debris only partly girdles the planet. On a tour of Neptune, a detour to view Triton would be well worthwhile. Neptune's largest moon, it has a retrograde motion (orbiting in a backward direction in comparison to other satellites). P347 4-Tel 347 Sun 11 Sep C4 21:27:28 Neptunj 0 4/4Another strange feature is the dark smoke plumes seen to erupt from the surface of Neptunj's moon Triton. How these ari formed no-onj is really sure, especially as Triton has thj coldest surface temperaturi of anythingin thj solar system, minus 235 degrees Celsius, colder even than Pluto.
