P173 CEEFAX 173 Thu 24 Jan 22:03/11 Prime Minister John Major has told the Commons that British firms have not broken sanctions against Iraq. Mr Major said he knew of no involvementby British firms in the Iraqi chemical weapons programme and said any advice to the contrary would be followed up. The assurance followed concern about reports of a US government list of 500firms, from 50 countries, which had broken sanctions against Iraq.
