P114 CEEFAX 114 Thu 7 Feb 21:55/43 DPP "WILL NOT RELY ON SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE" The Director of Public Prosecutions has made a concession in the appeal of the six men convicted of the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings. The preliminary hearing of the Appeal Court was told that the DPP would no longer be relying on scientific evidence to uphold the convictions. Forensic evidence played a vital part in the conviction of the six men.
