Their new V12 Honda engines may not initially be better than the V10 but have a lot of potential. McLaren lost ground technically towards the end of the season, in particular to Ferrari, but have further developed the evolutionary chassis. They have good reliability and sound financial back-up They are among the favourites for the title but face a tough job with the opposition getting better and better.  Next Page Sport General M/Sport

They benefit from a marketing deal with McLaren and are the first customers to receive the V10 Honda engines, formerly raced by McLaren and, I believe, as good as the V12 on a street circuit. They have a top class driver in Stefano Modena who, if he could find his F3000 form of 1987, could clinch his first GP victory - and Tyrrell's first since '83 Saturo Nakajima can be relied upon to do a workmanlike job in the second car.  Next Page Sport General M/Sport

Mansell has become the catalyst in a professional team which last season seemed at times to lack direction. They have a brand new car using a further revised Renault engine and the option of a semi-automatic gearbox which should combine to place Williams back at the forefront of F1 technology. Mansell and his team-mate Riccardo Patresj will ensure that the team are serious Championship contenders.  Next Page Sport General M/Sport

Leading driver Nelson Piquet showed a return to his former brilliance in '90. Benetton will also benefit from being Pirelli's undisputed number one team and can expect to receive 'designer' tyres - for the fashion house that owns the team it could not be more fitting! Benetton using the V8 Ford, plus Roberto Moreno in the driver line-up, could well continue the winning streak on which they finished last season.  Next Page Sport General M/Sport
