Cooke said the news of his interest in the vacant chief executive posts with Yorkshire and Lancashire had been due to an "unfortunate leak." In a statement, he said the premature publicty had caused him "considerable personal embarrassment" and created unfair pressure on the two clubs. P347 CEEFAX 347 Thu 21 Mar 21:01/35  COOKE  PULLS  OUT 2/2  Members of England's Grand Slam team havj expressed relief that team boss Geoff Cooke has withdrawn applications for senior jobs in county cricket. Scrum-half Richard Hill said the team had been "very concerned" about the possibility of Cooke stepping down. "I know all members of the squad will be glad he will be with us in Australia and the World Cup," he added.
