P113 CEEFAX 113 Fri 5 Nov 16:11/30       HOME  PRISON OFFICERS TAKE ACTION Prison officers have begun a "stop- and-go" campaign of industrial action in protest at privatisation, jail overcrowding and work safety. Officers in the 130 state-run prisons in England and Wales are refusing to work unpaid overtime. The action coincides with today's one-day national strike over privatisation by six civil service unions. In Glasgow, officers at Barlinnie jail have held a two hour picket in protest against market testing.  Next News World Flash TV/Radio
