But Labour's Derek Fatchett said:  "The overall figures for the year  will still be disappointing, in the  context of a recession."   And Lib Dem Malcolm Bruce said: "A  trade deficit of any size after  such a deep recession offers an  extremely worrying prospect for the  UK's outlook."
