P118 CEEFAX 118 Fri 3 Dec 16:23/25       HOME  BRITISH COAL SHUTS THREE MORE PITS British Coal is to end production at three more pits today. Miners have accepted redundancy payments of up to £44,000 at Bentley and Hatfield in Yorkshire and Silverdale in Staffordshire. Production is also due to end next Friday at Staffordshire's only other working pit, Littleton.
