P193 CEEFAX 193 Fri 17 Dec 16:15/26   1/2     DESPATCH  Joshua Rozenberg on new guidelines that drink-drivers who kill should go to jail:   Lord Chief Justice Lord Taylor said that the original £250 fine and driving disqualification in the case of Peter Shepherd, 29, who killed two people, was too lenient.   He said that apart from exceptional cases, a custodial sentence was appropriate. P193 CEEFAX 193 Fri 17 Dec 16:11/11   2/2     DESPATCH  Joshua Rozenberg reports on legal deliberations over sentencing in two drink-drive cases: A drink-driver from Oxford got nine months for causing the death of a passenger in his car. Both drivers admitted the new offence of causing death by careless driving when under the influence of drink.
