So I wasn't hugely disappointed to discover Jonathan's three-times-a-week Channel 4 chat show faces the axe later this year. He'll be getting a late-night slot on Saturdays. I hate people who canWt take it on the chin. C4 blames the show's dismal ratings failure on viewers not getting home from work in time to tune in!?! Col Oleg Penkovsky was a high-ranking Russian who turned traitor. And, if you can believe anything the KGB, CIA and MI6 men said, he was later arrested and executed after an error by the Brits. A wizened little retired CIA chief was interviewed sitting in his armchair looking like a harmless Ronnie Corbett. Mind-blowing stuff when you think about the blood he must have on his hands. He might be vulgar and opinionated but the guy's a pussycat in real life. Yeah, like all pussycats he's got savage claws.
