Most of the arrests took place as emptylorries arrived to pick up coal for theRavenscraig steel works near MotherwellMore than 1,500 pickets faced almost asmany police lining the terminal's entrance. P207 CEEFAX 207 Tue 8 May 21:14/52 2/2 Police detained two busloads of pickets near the Ravenscraig steelworks today. Forty-two of the miners are still in custody at Motherwell police station, after their bus allegedly failed to comply with police instructions. Leaders of the tug boat crew at the Hunterston terminal, which handlec coal bound for Ravenscraig, have decided not to handle any more incomingor outgoing ships.
