The BMA say: "Studies in Sweden have shown that the injury reducing rate for rear seat belts is 28% for adults and 52% for children." There is a reported drop of 25% in deaths and serious injuries since front seat belts were made compulsory. More

A campaign is being launched to urge people to put return addressec on the backs of envelopes. A rubber stamp, stick-on address or clearly written return address would help both the Post Office - and the letter writer - to get it right. More

"£ IN BRIEF SEWING SECURITY A legal ruling won by two women sewing machinists in the Appeal Court could give job security safeguards to thousand of people who work at home. The Appeal Judges ruled that two women, who worked from home making boys' trousers for a Cambridge clothing company, were direct employees entijled to protection from unfair dismissal. Their complaint of unfair dismissal can now be investigated on its merits. More
