But the Association warns that repairs should ONLY be attempted if people know what they are doing - a bit of a Catch 22 situation. "If you are not familiar wijh the workings of an appliance, there is no obvious way of knowing whether a repair is going to be easy or difficult." "£    ELECTRICITY BLUES In a recent survey of electrical repairs, the Consumer Association found that the average time for a repair call out had improved to less than three days. BUT fewer than 80% of faults were repaired on the first visit. The Electricity Board was still the slowest to repond, taking 4.3 days on average to answer a call, and managing to repair only 62% of faults on the first visit. More
