P240 CEEFAX 240 Tue 29 May 21:11/14 1/7 ISLEOFMANTTRACES Chas Mortimer, Charlie Williams, Mick Grant and Tony Rutter are just a few of the top class TT riders competing in this year's races. Official practising starts on Monday, May 28, around the 38-mile Mountain circuit. The 1984 TT entry includes many riders from overseas, bojh experienced Island competitors and newcomers. Among them are Graeme McGregor of Australia, Klaus Klein and Helmut Dahne(West Germany), and New Zealanders Des Barry, Dennis Ireland, and Ken Dobson.
P240 CEEFAX 240 Tue 29 May 21:11/32 2/7 ISLEOFMANTTRACES Nine races are on the TT programme this year, with special interest focusing on the re-introduced Production TT. The race, for over-the-counter motor cycles, has attracted a full entry. It includes previous TT race winners Bill Smith, Gary Padgett, Phil Mellor, SteveTonkin and Tony Rutter. The Classic Parade has been scrapped infavour of a Historic TT - a race of three laps for bikes over 25 years old.Manx Nortons, Matchlesses, Triumphs, AJSs and Velocettes will bring a touch of nNstalgia to the Island.
P240 CEEFAX 240 Tue 29 May 21:29/23 3/7 ISLEOFMANTTRACESHonda Britain are once again showing their support for the TT races in whichthey first competed 25 years ago. They are fielding a three-man team, with TT Formula One world champion JoeyDunlop riding a range of machines in five events. Team-mate Roger Marshall will be takingpart in four races, while nine times TTwinner Chas Mortimer has been drafted into the team to ride in the 250cc class of the Production race. Dunlop and Marshall will both be ridinglhe three-cylinder two-stroke RS500Rs in the Senior TT.
P240 CEEFAX 240 Tue 29 May 21:32/56 4/7 ISLEOFMANTTRACES A new award is to be offered in the 500cc Senior TT, in memory of Norman Brown from Newry, Co Down, who was killed at Silverstone in 1983. It will be won for the fastest lap in the race. Trevor Ireson is back to compete in the sidecar race, hoping for better luck with his new passenger Donny Williams. He was forced to pull out last year when passenger Ashley Wooler left the night before the race, after deciding the demanding TT circuit was not for him. Brett Gaites from Ramsey joins the TTTravelling Marshal team. More

Sammy McClements from Northern Ireland needs a Formula One bike, while Geoff Johnson from North Yorkshire would like to get a ride on agood 500 Suzuki in the Senior race. Steve Saunders and John Lampkin head a top class entry in the Peveril Mojor Cycle Club's Arena Trial, which will beheld at the Bowl in Douglas. Yorkshire enthusiast Roger Field is to present a trophy to the rider and machine most in keeping wijh the TT celebrations wijhin the Vintage Motor Cycle Club Assembly. More
P240 CEEFAX 240 Tue 29 May 21:12/46 6/7 ISLEOFMANTTRACES The fourth in an annual series of 50 pence coins showing former TT race winners has been launched. It features sidecar aces Mick Boddice and Chas Birks in Ramsey, during their second- race victory in the 1983 TT. Practising for the races takes place daily from Monday, May 28 to Friday, June 1. Roads on the Mountain Course are closed throughout practice sessions. More
