P209 CEEFAX 209 Tue 5 Jun 21:21/00 Management and unions are meeting today in a bid to resolve the dihpute which is losing BL 2,000 cars a day. About 13,500 workers have been laid offat Longbridge, Cowley, Swindon and Llanelli in a dispute over the sacking of a man for reacting violently to alleged racial abuse from a foreman. The foreman has been disciplined for swearing. Production at Talboj's Ryton plant has been halted and 1,000 men laid off in a row over the suspension of two track workers who failed to use specialtools in the way management required.
