P204 CEEFAX 204 Tue 12 Jun 21:24/05 Miners' leader Arthur Scargill has rejected the new "plan for coal" put forward by NCB chairman Ian MacGregor. Mr Scargill said on BBC Radio's World At One programme that Mr MacGregor was using "the language of one who tells lies and distorts the facts"- Mr MacGregor outlined the new plan in The Times today. Mr Scargill said it confirmed NUM arguments, and that "the real intention of the Coal Board is to close 70 to 100 pits and reduce man- power by 70,000". News index 102/202 Newsreel 119/219
