It is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority(CAA). If you are making a booking with an Agent 4 ATOL Protected Operator, this means that the retail agent is acting as an authorised agent for ATOL holder direct. If a TTA member becomes insolvent,the customer's money will be held by the TTA and used to pay for the holiday TGTG (THE GLOBAL TRAVEL GROUP) The TGTG is an association of independent travel agents. Companies who advertise package holidays which do not include air travel also have to be members of an approved body. These include ABTA,AITO, CPT,YCA,PSA,FTO & ABTOT. These bodies are also responsible for refunding customers should the operator or retailer you are dealing with become insolvent. There are exceptions to the rule!
