Four thousand citizens, aged 14 to 92, have so far become members after using Millennium Commission grants of up to £3,000 to do deeds regarded as having some benefit to the community. The 34-year-old teacher followed a monkey for two weeks through the dense jungles of Sri Lanka as part of a team studying ape behaviour. "It was a bit like It's A Knockout for mammals with me following this monkey through hedges and swamps. "It was a wonderful experience which has changed my life." The 30-year-old jazz saxophonist from Norwich was sectioned at the age of 18. She has poured the torment she endured into a track called Bruises. The TV writer, 68, behind shows such as Henry's Cat, says: "The children are learning animation techniques and their work is to be screened on the Internet. P107 Teletext 107 Jan26 22:18:32    ——————————————————————————————  MILLENNIUM HALL OF FAME   Drama students Holly Sykes, 18,  and Alex Clifton, 19, are among the youngest citizens to become members of the Millennium Awards Fellowship. The youngsters from Cheshire received £1,100 each from the Millennium Commission to teach drama to black children in Soweto, South Africa. "Teaching out there is abysmal," says Alex. P107 Teletext 107 Jan26 22:13:52    ——————————————————————————————  MILLENNIUM HALL OF FAME   Some 40,000 people are expected to  have become members of the Millennium Awards Fellowship by the year 2000. The scheme, run by the Millennium Commission using Lottery cash, will dish out £20m in awards this year and again in 2000, and £100m has been set aside so it survives beyond 2001.
