Wetherby's Ian Ward explained: "The course is waterlogged. We had 6mm of rain overnight and the track is still flooded on the York Road side." Plumpton's clerk of the course Da6id McHarg reported: "We were due to look at the track at lunchtime but we had 14mm of overnight rain. "We had absolutely no option but to abandon the meeting."
