P113 CEEFAX 113 Tue 24 Aug 21:26/13 HOME HUNGER STRIKE ORGANISER RELEASED A prisoner who was one of the key organisers of the IRA hunger strike in the Maze Prison in 1981, has been released on parole for a week. Brendan McFarlane, 41, has served 18 years of a life sentence for a gun and bomb attack on a bar, in which five people were killed. He was also among 38 prisoners who took part in the largest ever break-out from a jail in the United Kingdom, in 1983. He was returned to jail after being extradited from Holland.
