They were held when 40 police officers and 20 from the Benefits Agency and Customs swooped on a caravan site and store in the centre of Harlow, Essex. Ten people were arrested on suspicion of fraud. The other eight were wanted for other crimes or on warrants by the courts. Pamela Hammond, from Billericay bought Daisy, a 1912 German toy with a rare porcelain head 16 years ago. She only discovered its true value when she took up doll-making. The legs of lamb, in 658 60lb cartons, were in a container parked in Stadium Way, Benfleet, at 10pm on Tuesday. It was found missing on Wednesday morning. The seasonally adjusted jobless total fell by 700 to 73,200, representing 7.1% of the workforce in the region. Lois Cocksedge, 78, collapsed at her cottage at Stanstead, near Sudbury, shortly after the blaze at the 250- tonne stack several weeks ago. She seemed to have made a good recovery but suffered a relapse and died.
