The price of plaice has increased especially for the larger fish. Whole fish will cost around £1.70 a lb and fillets around £3.50. If you fancy a change, try fresh shell on prawns at £2.25 a lb while peeled prawns depending on their size and quality will cost between £4.50-£5.50 a lb frozen. Salmon in particular will remain in great demand with all sizes available. Small whole fish should cost around £2.20 a lb, cutlets from £3.90-£4.50 and 7-8lb whole fish around £2.70 a lb. Fillets will cost in the region of £3.90 a lb. There is no specific best buy this week as any whole fish is a sensible choicj.
