The Ministry of Agriculture says salmonella has been found in the flock at Our Lady of Passion monastery near Daventry. The nuns, who at one stage locked themselves in a henhouse to save the birds, are now giving up egg production Agriculture Minister John Gummer said the hens would be destroyed as soon as possible.
