P117 ORACLE 117 Tue24 Oct ITV 1943:54 Rest of the News......... 4/4 THATCHER STILL BACKS DEATH PENALTY Mrs Thatcher has made it clear she is still in favour of the death penalty despite events surrounding the Guildford Four. She said it was "absolutely right" that there was a full inquixy into the case of the four who spent 15 years in jail for the Guildford and Woolwich bombings But she told BBC TV: "My view is the same — I believe the death penalty should be available to the courts in the most hideous of cases." She added that the death penalty should not be mandatory. >>>>> News headlines 101 Live at Five 120Newsfile Live At Five Sport TV Guide
