I am 66. I have had information from the council that where I reside was converted to dedsitters without planning permission. Therefore the council says the premises must revjrt to single accommodation. What is my position? Davjd. reply > Livj At Five Guide 120 Five Live 129 Five Live Stars Sport TV Guide

I urge you to go to your local council office and apply for housing without delay. It will be able to advise you on what its policy is under these circumstances. Keep the council fully informed of any letters you receive from your landlord or his solicitors. reply follows > Livj At Fivj Guide 120 Five Livj 129 Five Live Stars Sport TV Guide

You may be eligible for free advice. If not you should be able to have up to half an hour for £5 from a solicitor who displays the legal aid sign. If you are a regulated tenant who pays a fair rent you should not give up your room unless the landlord obtains a court order, but if he lives on the premises he may not need a court order. reply continues > Livj At Fivj Guide 120 Five Live 129 Five Live Stars Sport TV Guide

Possibly he may have other accommodation available. If you are made homeless you should be considered as a "priority" case by the local council since you are over retirement age. This will mean you should not be left with nowhere to live so it should make sure you have a roof over your head.
