Guests at thj Royal Exeter Hotel were led to safety as smoke spread from the basement blaze. PC Adrian Sharpe was driving a police car along the A128 when it left the road and hit a tree. WPC Jo Ann Jennings, who was in the jront passenger seat, died in the accident. The man allegedly held a pair of ucissors to the girl's face and then indecently assaulted her. She screamed, struggled and broke free. The Bill will now proceed to its third and final reading bjfore passing to the House of Commons. Five peers visited Southampton earlier this month to study the viability of thj scheme. About 50 gallons of the oil leaked from @ burst pipe. A reservoir at Seaford has been closed. Mid-Sussex Water Company is sending out a warning to people in thj Tirle, Beddingham and Rodmell areas.
