Michael Gilfilin, 30, of Grangetown, is charged with the murder of John Purbrick who lived in the same block of flats. Mr Purbrick died early yesterday morning following an attack on Tuesday afternoon. West Wind Generators had hoped to erect the turbines on a hill overlooking the historic town and castle. However, Llanelli council's planning committee turned down the application late this afternoon. Beverley Tumelty, aged 28, of Llanishen, Cardiff, suffered serious burns when the airbag in her new Mondeo car was activated and set her clothes on fire. She suffered burns to her stomach and chest in the crash. They say they are being forced to make cuts to avoid capping by the Government. They said today £4.7 million worth of cuts would have to be made in schools themselves. Swansea Crown Court heard claims that members of an alleged paedophile ring would spin a bottle on a beach to decide which children would be sexually abused, by which adults. The animals were put down after a court ruled they were unregistered pit bull terrier-type animals. Ian Sharp was in Spain with his children, aged six and eight. He said he would only return to Britain if he was given guarantees that the children's wishes would be met.
