A statement put out by the discount retailer said calendar 1993 sales at its Poundstretcher chain were 6.4% up on the previous 12 months. But, in the fourth quarter, like- for-like growth was just 2.7%, with a very slow start to the season not being fully offset by strong sales in the final fortnight. As a result, full-year losses will top the £4m expected in the market.  Headlines 201 Share price 226 Diary Features Exchanges Moneyfile

A statement issued by the leisure clothing group said the difficult trading conditions referred to in October had continued. Meanwhile, changes put in place by the newly installed management team were unlikely to have much impact before the second half of 1994. As a result, early indications for the year just ended were for a pre- tax loss of the order of £7.75m.  Headlines 201 Share price 226 Diary Features Exchanges Moneyfile
