P134 CEEFAX 134 Fri 5 Mar 21:01/03       POLITICS  AUSTRALIA WANTS OWN UNKNOWN WARRIOR The Australian government says it wants its own Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, breaking an agreement made with Britain more than 70 years ago The deal, made when the body of the unknown soldier was first buried in Westminster Abbey in 1921, gave the UK the sole honour of commemorating the Commonwealth war dead. Now the War Graves Commission is to be asked for permission to ship home the body of one of the thousands of Australian soldiers buried in France or Belgium whose remains were never identified.  Next News Home News Flash TV/Radio
