P392 CEEFAX 392 Fri 5 Mar 21:31/09 1/6 ANTE-POST UPDATE: THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL The inaugural running of the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle, a 2m5f contest with £40,000 added, will take place on the Wednesday of the Festival. It will be the third race of the day, sandwiched between the Sun Alliance and the Champion Chases. There will be a maximum field of thirty runners although at this stage there have been 68 declared. Heading the William Hill book of prices is last Saturday's Haydock winner - Andrew's First. Source: William HILL Organization Ltd Timeform News Interview CourseDet
P392 CEEFAX 392 Fri 5 Mar 21:15/47 2/6 ANTE-POST UPDATE: THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL Trai d by Mark Wilkins n this o seems to be the punters' choice. He has been backed at 8/1 for the race and is now offered at 6/1. His trainer offers great encouragement: "He is in great form and you would not have known that he had a race. "I think he still has a bit of improvement. We have kept a bit up our sleeve from Haydock and the extra furlong and uphill finish should suit him," said Wilkinson. His price looks even more generous given the doubts about his rivals. Source:William HILL Organiuation Ltd Timeform News Interview CourseDet
P392 CEEFAX 392 Fri 5 Mar 21:03/29 3/6 ANTE-POST UPDATE: THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL The Jimmy FitzGerald-trained Trainglot is second in the market at 10/1 but he is also entered for the Sun Alliance Novices' Hurdle. He has won his last four races and will be a threat in whichever race he contests. The former Cesarewitch winner is, according to FitzGerald "a very good horse who jumps well and stays very well. He will be suited by the course." The third in the betting is the Martin Pipe-trained Grand Hawk who is quoted at 16/1. Source: William HILL Organization Ltd Timeform News Interview CourseDet
P392 CEEFAX 392 Fri 5 Mar 21:11/44 4/6 ANTE-POST UPDATE: THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL Grand Hawk has won five of his eight races this season and should be ideally suited by the likely frenetic early pace. The Martin Pipe second string, at least according to Hill's, is 20/1 chance Balasani who has been a little disappointing recently. He lost out by a short head on his last run, at Chepstow - beaten by Jackie Retter's Boscean Chieftain. This one is a 16/1 shot for the Cheltenham renewal which is a little surprising considering there is a 1lb turnaround in the weights. P392 CEEFAX 392 Fri 5 Mar 21:14/02 5/6 ANTE-POST UPDATE: THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL A number of the entries could well prove to be "market springers". Alterezza, trained by Dermot Weld, is offered at 20/1. He won in very convincing style at Leopardstown. That was in January but the promise of that run has not really been fulfilled since then. Potentially far more interesting is Martin Tate's Nickle Joe who has been supported from 25/1 into 16/1. He could well step up on his three runs this season and at this stage looks the one to keep an eye on. Source:William HILL Organization Ltd Timeform News Interview CourseDet
