File Extensions List

There are certainly better lists and resources out there for file extensions, but many of those resources are private or have limited scope to what they take as additional data.

This list exists to keep track of some of the more obscure file extensions I come across through various bits of research, and what applications they may relate to.

Keep in mind that any body can make up their own file extension, it has very little bearing on the actual file structure and I am not the best data analyst out there - however I have a few tools and some knowledge that will help me identify if a file is simply masquerading as something else.
