The show will open in London's West End in Autumn 1998 before going on tour. Winkler, 51, says: "Bringing it to life on the stage seems to be natural since the public continues to show such affection for the characters." In the movie, Contact, Foster plays an astronomer who discovers alien life. Director Robert Zemekis has written in clips of Mr Clinton who seems to be responding to an alien message. Mr Clinton, who was actually talking about the possibility of life on Mars, said use of the footage was "unfair and inappropriate".
