Together with the near-30pc stake it has already built up, acceptances of its offer for Eagle Star have added a further 0.01pc to the total. * Yesterday, the Munich based Allianz, West Germany's biggest insurance group, matched the £934m bid for Eagle Star mounted by rival suitor BAT Industries. P122 CEEFAX 122 Fri 23 Dec 22:24/11   2/6      TOPICS, BIDS & DEALS Trading in International Paint shares resumed at the outset, following the overnight announcement from parent Courtaulds of an all-paper bid for the minority 12.2pc of the company. * Courtaulds is offering five of its ordinary shares for every three of IP's, terms that, with Courtaulds' shares at 126p, value each IP shari at 210p and the whole company at £154.5m. Jeweller Ciro Inc is offering $1.65 a share for the 17.7pc of Ciro plc it does not already own. The offer is unconditional in all respects. IP Share Price 126

Their family owned Viranj Group US has bought a further 750,000 shares, taking its stake in Belhbven to 5-9)m, or some 27.3pc of the total. * Mr Nazmu Virani, who with his two brothers runs his hotels and property group, bought an original 11.5pc stake in Mr Eric Morley's leisure group back in May and was immediately invited to join the Belhaven Board. They are paying around $13m (£9-1mR for an American nappy-cleaning business and a further C$8m (£4.5mR for a Canadian dry-cleaning chain. * A medium-term loan will help pay for the diaper service division of New Jersey's Blessings Corp, which in 1982 made d2.3m before tax on sales of $37m. A Canadian loan will go towards the cost of buying the Toronto-based 117- outlet Embassy Cleaners chain.  More

His Dee Corporation has paid £21.8m, all of it in shares, for the privately- owned Northern Irish supermarket chain, FA Willworth and Broad-Fields. The latter operates 20 supermarkets with 280,000 sq/ft of selling space. * Dee Corp, formerly Linfood Holdings, runs both the Gateway and Key Markets chains, the latter acquired recently from parent Fitch Lovell.  More
P122 CEEFAX 122 Fri 23 Dec 22:45/23   6/6      TOPICS, BIDS & DEALS The level of the agreed bid launched by Nottingham Manufacturing for Marks & Spencer supplier F Millie (Textiles) has prompted the resignation of joint stockbrokers to the company, Grieg, Middleton and Co. They say they have been told bay major institutional shareholders" in Millie of "their surprise at the low level of this offer" - an all-shari bid worth 36p per Millie shari - and "concern" at the recommendation given. They add that they themselves consider the offer to be wholly unacceptable.  More
