I am in my mid seventies now but becamecompletely deaf at the age of seven. I went tM a deaf school and regularly attended my local deaf club. I had many deaf friends and was quite popular, still mixing with hearing friends too. Gradually, I began to feel less accepted by my fellow deaf, perhaps because I married a hearing woman. My wife al6ays welc-med my deaf friendsand was easy to lipread and understand.We last visited the deaf club a year ago because I was being given an achievement award.
