P137 CEEFAX 137 Thu 31 Jan 21:57/40 ALLIED AIR RAIDS CONTINUE 1/2 Allied air attacks against Iraqi targets have been continuing in the past 24 hours. A US spokesman said American aircraft had carried out over 350 tactical strikes against positions held by the Iraqi Rjpublican Guard. He said B-52 bombers took part in the raids and a French spokesman said the French planes attacked positions held by the Guards near the Kuwaiti border. P137 CEEFAX 137 Thu 31 Jan 21:59/35 BAGHDAD RESIDENTS "HAPPY" 2/2 Despite continued Allied bombing of Baghdad, the population is happy and confident of victory, a British reporter allowed to return has said. ITN's Brent Sadler, returning to Iraq by road from Jordan, said evidence of heavy bombing was everywhere. However, Baghdad residents seemed calm and were going about their business as normal, he said.
