The news follows an announcement earlier today that BBC Wales is to shed300 jobs, and close down the BBC Radio Gwent station. The BBC says the cuts package will save £2.75 million. Penn Pharmaceuticals, from Tredegar in Gwent, is already sending hundreds of thousands of phials of antidotes to the allied forces. At the moment there is no known treatment for eyes exposed to chemical weapons. The County's Chief Fire Officer, Ken Hayton was expressing concern about an increase in arson attacks. North Wales police deny that arson attacks are not properly investigated. Gladys McCarthy, who is 71, said she made the grisly discovery when she heard Miss Thomas's baby daughter crying the day after she was allegedly throttled by her fiance, Peter Jones. Details of the fire were outlined to members of the county's public protection committee today. BP's handling of the blaze, which they described as minor, again came under attack at the meeting. Earlier this week Home Secretary Kenneth Baker announced that no juveniles would be remanded to adult prisons following the suicide of teenager Philip Knight in Swansea jail. But both firms say their ships meet all current safety standards.
