On 26 January Iraqi planes began to fly to Iran to escape Allied bombing raids. Iran impounded them - and more which came later - reiterating its neutrality in the war. Iraq continued to launch Scud missiles at Israel - hoping to embroil it in the war - and at Saudi Arabia.
