P136 CEEFAX 136 Thu 7 Mar 21:59/02 BRITAIN ASKS JAPAN FOR GULF AID The Foreign Secretary is reported to have asked Japan for a share of the $9 billion Tokyo has set aside in Gulf war funds. A Japanese foreign ministry official said Douglas Hurd had rung Japan's Foreign Minister Taro Nakayama, to congratulate the Japanese government on winning approval for the aid. Mr Hurd had also asked that Britain receivj a share of the war funds.
