Red, yellow, blue, green, brown, orange and black food colourings. Icing sugar and cornflour for dusting. Method: Place cake on cake board. Press jam through a sieve into pan and add one tablespoon of water, heat gently. Brush over cake.  BBC1 TV BBC2 TV Top Sport
P686 CEEFAX 686 Fri 3 Dec 16:17/48  2/16    MICHAEL BARRY'S SNOWBALL FIGHT: (To decorate his Crafty Christmas Cake - 10"/25cm) Roll out marzipan on a surface dusted with icing sugar to a 33cm/13in round. Lift onto cake and press round side ease it to make it fit; trim off excess paste. Colour 225g/8oz of sugar paste icing red and roll out on surface dusted with cornflour to make a strip the circumference and depth of cake. With fingertips gently pull icing irregularly down sides to resemble snow. Lightly brush cake board with water Press small mounds of icing round cake at random intervals. P686 CEEFAX 686 Fri 3 Dec 16:15/41  4/16    MICHAEL BARRY'S SNOWBALL FIGHT: (To decorate his Crafty Christmas Cake - 10"/25cm contWd) Method: To make tree, shape at cone of icing about 7.5cm/3in high and place upright on work surface. Thinly roll out more icing, cut out a 9cm/3½in ring using a fluted biscuit cutter; cut out centre. Dampen base of cone. Make a cut through ring of icing and secure to base of cone. Build up more layers, keeping joins at back until the cone is covered. Dust with a little green powdered food colouring. Flatten slightly on surface dusted with cornflour. Using a knife, make a cut from centre outwards to make two legs. Stand figure upright and flatten ends to make feet. Roll out a smaller ball of icing. Dampen slightly and place on top for head. Grease and line a deep 25cm/ 10" cake tin. Place flour, sugar, butter, almonds, eggs, baking powder, salt, milk and treacle in bowl and blend or beat until thoroughly smooth - mixing by hand takes about 2-3 mins Stir in cherries, peel, raisins, sultanas and currants, lemon juice and rind and place mixture in  BBC1 TV BBC2 TV Top Sport

To make tipsy snowman, shape as before and place on side of cake. Colour little icing brown and shape into beer bottle. Place in his hand and leave to harden for 24 hours. Carefully position standing snowman on cake, secured with small blobs of dampened icing. Position scarves in sections, first piece around necks then two ends. For trailing scarf on standing snowman, press half a cocktail stick horizontally into the back of body, than press scarf against cocktail stick. Colour a little icing red, shape and secure as noses. Shape snowballs from remaining icing and scatter over cake, one cut into pieces next to the fallen snowman. P686 CEEFAX 686 Fri 3 Dec 16:21/21  10/16    VEGETARIAN LEOPARD PIE: (serves 6) Ingredients: 675g/1½lb shortcrust pastry, thawed if frozen; 225g/8oz dried macaroni; 350g/12oz fresh spinach; 1 small fennel bulb, trimmed and diced; 50g/2oz pine nuts, fried until golden in a little oil. ½ red pepper, seeded and sliced; 90g/3½oz vegetarian feta cheese, cubed; 1 tsp drained capers; 200ml/ 7fl oz single cream; 3 eggs; 1 tsp cornflour blended with 2tbsp water; 1 tbsp caster sugar; 1 tbsp ground cinnnamon; seasoning.  BBC1 TV BBC2 TV Top Sport

Roll out two-thirds of pastry on lightly floured surface and use to line 22cm/8½in spring release tin. Cook macaroni until al dente, drain and set aside. Wash spinach thoroughly and remove any thick stalks. Cook in large pan with water on leaves until soft. Add half remaining macaroni, spinach and seasoning. Finish with remaining macaroni, pepper, feta cheese, capers and seasoning to taste. Grated rind of 1 orange; 3 egg yolks; 2 tbsp cocoa powder or icing sugar or ground almond or hundreds and thousands to coat. Sprinkle cocoa powder, icing sugar, ground almonds or hundreds and thousands into swiss roll tin. Scoop a teaspoon of chocolate mix and roll into ball. Repeat until all chocolate is used up, then roll each ball in coating thoroughly.
