P145 CEEFAX 145 Fri 10 Dec 16:23/55      PARLIAMENT  ALMOST 2 MILLION PAY TOP RATE TAX The number of people paying the top rate of income tax amounted to 1.9 million this year. The figure was disclosed by the Treasury's Financial Secretary Stephen Dorrell to the Commons. The 1.9 million makes up 7.5% of all taxpayers, a 0.4% rise since 1992-93, Mr Dorrell said.
