P137 CEEFAX 137 Fri 17 Dec 16:26/43       POLITICS  PATTEN ANNOUNCES NEW REPORT RULES John Patten has announced new regulations to make pupils' school reports clearer for parents and reduce bureaucracy for teachers. The Education Secretary said parents would be provided with a written report on their child's progress at least once a year. He said he would "simplify" what schools have to report about pupils and allow head teachers discretion about when reports are issued.
