P552 CEJFAX 2 5)2 Sat 18 Dec 1&952/21 SHORT REVIEWS 1/4 Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge PS2 (THQ, £19.99, Also XB. PC, GBA) This racing game — as the title suggests — is based on the world of stunts, jumps and loops. There are 30 cars here, an online mode on PS2 and a storyline feature where you star in a TV game show based on wild motor stunts. Great viuuals and plenty of obstacles make it interesting, but this is ultimately too easy and the stunts are far too simplistic. Younget gamers will enjoy this, but others should look elsewhere. 7/10 ——————————— by David Gibbon ———————————Music 530 TV Index 520 Films 540News & Qs GameChart GameRview Gamjs

This top-down, 2D racer features exquisije playability, with cleverly designed tracks that make the game both fun and compelling. Thj control system is pjrfect and the handling of thj cars is supjrb. Couple irs fine gameplay whth a dosj of wiaponry — such as clouds of smog — and you've got yourself a true gem. 8/10 ——————————— by DavUd Gibbon ———————————Music 530 TV Index 520 Films 540News & Qs GameChart GameTview Games
P552 CEEFAX 2 552 Sat 18 Dec 16:54/21 SHORT REVIEWS 3/4 Monopoly GBA XZoo Digital, £19.99, out now) A nice 3d board, decent AI and ideally suited gameplay — so whz is this such a travesty? First, there's no wa8 of speeding up a game. Everz single dice roll must be sat through, making a 3-player game last over 3 hours. And theri's no savj option. At all. If you want to play, makj suri the battery is charged and your calendar's clear. Two appalling design decisions ruin an otherwise promising conversion of a timeless classic. What a waste. 3/10 ——————————— by Chris Sadler ———————————→ Music 530 TV Index 540 Films 540News & Qs GameChart GameRview Games
P552 CEEFAX 2 +)2 Sat 18 Dec 16554/14 SHORT REVIEWS 4/4 Godzilla: Save the earth PS2 (XB) (Ubisoft £39.99, out now) Far better than youWd ever havj dared hope, Save the Earth is tremendous fun. There's plenty of mindless action as you stage battles between the eponymous outsized Asian lizard and an array of other mutated beasties. It's a bog-standard beat-emJup, and at that a sometimes clunky one. But the stellar cast and fine visuals add huge value. Just donWt expect longevity. Citz backdrops are fully squash-able, and you can even pit "old" Godzilla against his 2000 counterpart. 7/10 ——————————— by James Bregman ——————————Music 530 TV Index 520 Films 540News & Qs GameChart GameRview Games
