The sculptures were made by the artist Andrea Garrihy from Corsham, Wiltshire. The legs are made from one sheet of A4 paper folded in half twice, widthways, giving you four equal sections. Cut along the folded lines and you'll end up with four strips — roll each strip loosely and you have four legs. Put a little glue inside the rounded end to hold the layers together. Glue or tape the flattened end of each leg to the lower half of one pot. Pipe cleaners makj ideal antlers. Fix at the back of the body wiuh sticky tape. Ears next. Cut out triangular shapes from thin card. Round off the points and stick to the sides of his head. That's the fiddl8 bits donj sg it's easy now to fix the upper and lower body sections together. Again use shguu strips of sticky tape. If you£re short of time, you could skip this part and get straight on with painting him — antler1 and tail tog. You could staru with a co t of leftoveu emulsion paint, followed by a second coat of gold paint. One tiny tin should be enough for reindeer and sleigh. A red button can be used for Rudolph's famous nose. Pop him on somj newspaper and spread a little glue over the antler1, tail1 and hooves and sprinkle on the glitter. The runner1 ard strips of gold card. Cut two strips 5cm longer than the sleigh and cut the end intg points. Cut four more short strips of card tg hold the runners in place on the sleigh — round them off at one end. Stick the straight end under the runner. Tie a length of ribbon around R2dolph'1 neck for reins. Fix the end of the reins onto the sleigh with sticky tape. Make a base cut from thick cardboard covered in cotton wool. Pop Rudolf into position and snip tiny holes in the "snow". His hooves whll sink in and keep him steady. Now all you have to do is load him up!
