P107 ORACLE 107 Tue17 Oct ITV 1946:16   AMBULANCE STAFF  START HUNGER STRIKE About 40 ambulance workers are to start hunger strikes outside Health Department buildings to press their demands for more pay. Overtime bans are to be stepped up and a national petition organised, but no strikes will take place, union leaders have decided. There had been demands for limited strike action from the ranks of the 19,000 staff and 3,500 officers and controllers. The decision was taken by leaders of five unions meeting in London.
